It’s a lot like boot camp for believers. Equipped Disciple is a three-part discipleship class designed to help you become rooted, built up and strengthened as a fruitful follower of Christ. The series begins by covering the basics of prayer and Bible study and continues by helping you grow stronger in outreach, discipleship and the disciplines of the Christian life. But perhaps the best way to understand how Equipped Disciple can change your walk with Christ is to talk to those who’ve experienced the transformation themselves. As the message of Christ spreads in this diverse environment, doors are opened as our students return home and share their faith in countries where Western believers wouldn’t be welcome.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO A MORMON OUTREACH MINISTRY?
I grew up in Southern California. When I was a kid, some Mormon missionaries came to the door of our house, and my mom spoke with them briefly. I was fascinated by them and after they left, I asked my mom about the difference between our beliefs as Christians and the Mormons. She explained that Mormons believed you could get into heaven through your own good work. After hearing this, I raced out the door. I wanted to tell those guys that it wasn’t true—that it was our faith in Christ alone that saves us.
